Grizzly H3125 Ukulele Kit

by jack on May 7, 2010

Pronounced “U-KU-Lele (” OOO-KU-Hawaiians by Lele), this little “Guitar” from Hawaii is very popular on the continent.  The Grizzly Ukulele kits include the parts of mahogany and make a great instrument. 4 nylon strings make it easy to play and a wonderful starter “guitar …. for the juvenile and adult. The H3125 is ready built and is easy to put together (you just need glue and some clamps), so it makes a great project to do on your own, or with your kids. Best part is the neck and body are pre-formed, so you can’t make a mistake putting them together (they click where they go together). All you need to do is glue it together, sand it down, and finish it however you like (be creative!).

I have to warn you, though: the strings suck. You definitely will want to get a set of real strings if you want to play your ukulele after you build it.  If you want to really make this kit even better, you can add gold tuners, and it will hold its tuning longer.

The instructions have easy to follow pictures, but the written instructions were written by Chinese people, but it’s easy to figure out.

A lot of people buy a couple of these Grizzly kits, build them, and then give them away as gifts.

The Grizzly H3125 ukulele kit is rated as the “best value” kit you can buy, and has all the pieces ready to put together, with no sawing or drilling required (unlike the complicated and expensive Stew Mac kit). The unbelievably low price and high quality is achieved through American design and offshore production…read more at…

If you believe that the body of the ukulele is made ready, the round is finished and installed with frets and neck / head are already formed this is a great kit for the price. Do not expect a high quality instrument, but the use of this kit as an introduction to what is going to build a ukulele. The top and bottom of the ceiling are made of mahogany plywood beautiful striped Sapele made really beautiful. The parties are not particularly attractive Luan plywood. The body is fitted with a liner, but no reinforcements that I can see. All parts are sanded and ready for fine sanding, staining and finishing. The machine heads and strings are cheap, but reasonable. The directions are poorly translated into Chinese, but the construction is easy to understand. The neck should be in place by a simple butt joint, but I would say a further strengthening with studs. I propose, first, the reduction of the nuts box distance of at least 1 / 16 “for better intonation. The string height is not specified in the instructions, so you better know how to be set correctly, that to play well.
The instrument I built went well, the sound is not particularly high compared with better instruments. I changed the strings from Aquila Nylgut with much better results.

I built this kit is inexpensive and has some “extras”. Chains of gold tuners and improved. It is a beautiful instrument. I went together well and sounds good. I am like everyone who sees control over them can not believe that I built myself and I am now using them for donations. If this is not a ukulele player, dress I with something that relates to their hobby, and it offers a great wall hanger for everyone. (I marine turtles for my daughter did.)

The kit was easy to assemble, and materials are of good quality. The manual is more than enough, and I was satisfied with the result. The product was as I expected and more. Delivery was fast.

Gesamt, a good experience.

I wanted to take a small telescope on a trip abroad, I have decided to get this kit ukulele. It was thus in a short time, basically all you need is sand paper and glue fix. It may not be the strongest, but it has an extra burst it when I play

I received this kit as a gift and had built it and play on the weekend of Easter. It was easy and fun, with some minor additions and now I am part of a gentle with my colection instrament chain.
